More Immigration Forms

I woke up around 7:00 AM to another beautiful day; sun shining and birds singing. I got the crossword puzzles from the paper and then wrote the letter that I email to my family every Sunday morning, with the xwords attached. I was listening to Jimmy Buffett’s Barometer Soup album while preparing the weekly update and it seemed perfect.

Martha was supposed to come to my place at 9:30 to help with some online forms that we will need for the canje, but she got held up in traffic so didn’t get here until after 10:00. We went online and had to verify my passport by uploading a picture of it and then filling in a form. After that, there was another form that requests trading my FFM for a Temporary Resident Card. Martha brought her adorable and well behaved dog with her and I was glad to have a canine in my house again, even for a little while. I can see myself getting a dog a bit further down the road.

After she left I read the paper and started doing a bit of house hunting online. I found a couple of interesting prospects, but I won’t plan on checking out any of them until I have my residence squared away, hopefully on Wednesday. After that, I worked on some Spanish lessons and did some more online shopping for some more items I will need. Martha told me that, when I order online, they will call me before they deliver any packages so I can be home when they arrive.

Around 4:30, I walked for about a mile and a half using my Nordic walking sticks, and it helped me be more comfortable walking on the uneven pavement here. Tomorrow, I will start taking some snapshots of the areas where I walk so I can give you an idea of what it looks like around my neighborhood. I didn’t have to rest as often, and I explored another part of the neighborhood, stopping at the corner store for some tortillas and a loaf of wheat Wonder Bread.

When I got back home, I watched episodes of Firefly, The Avengers and Star Trek: Deep Space 9, while snacking and solving crossword puzzles. I dozed off for a while, so now it is after midnight and I feel wide awake. I didn’t learn how to format photos nicely on the blog yet, so I hope to do that tomorrow. I better get to bed now, because tomorrow is my first day back at work.
