26/11/23 - 03/12/23 Sunday – Sunday

It has been a busy week, without much time for reflection or blogging, so I will try my best to put down the highlights of Moving Week.

·         Sunday, 26/11/23

o   Wrote family letter

o   Read the paper

o   Walked for ½ hour

o   Relaxed and did xword puzzles

·         Monday – Friday, 27/11/23 – 01/12/23

o   Spanish with Martha – Monday morning

o   Worked at my job for 2 hours every day

o   Shopped for groceries

o   Shopped for furniture

o   Shopped for appliances

o   Bought some of all of the above

o   Signed lease contract

o   Had gas hooked up to my water heater and temporary stove top

o   Accepted deliveries at both addresses

o   Assembled lots of furniture

o   Rode multiple Ubers and Didis moving my stuff

o   Found out that I had been prepping my fresh produce wrong

o   Started soaking my produce in iodine solution

o   Started internet service with Telmex

o   Ate all of my meals at home

o   Did a quick clean of the new house

o   Did a final clean of the old house

o   Did initial setup of furniture & appliances in new house

·         Saturday, 02/12/23

o   Got up and spent a relaxed morning with tea and Strib newspaper

o   Went to see how far I could get up El Cerro de San Miguel (the Hill of Saint Michael)

§  In the middle of the walk up, got a call to be back at home in an hour

§  Blacksmith was coming to check his work on the stair rail

§  Decided to push for another 15 minutes

§  Only made it for 10

o   Went further up than I thought I would, but at a price

§  My legs got a bit rubbery

§  Rubbery legs not good for descent of many steps

§  While struggling down, a lady passed me up running down the stairs backwards!

·         I watched her in amazement

·         I shouted “¡Olé! when she got to the bottom.

·         She looked at me like I swore at her. <shrug>

§  Took a long time getting home, up and down hills

o   Ate breakfast after blacksmith left

o   Went to the store to get more housewares and groceries

o   Bought too much to take a bus, called Uber

o   Got home and assembled more furniture

o   Fed myself, took a shower and collapsed in bed

·         Sunday, 03/12/23

o   Got up after sleeping for 7 hours

o   Downloaded and printed puzzles

o   Wrote weekly family email and sent it with puzzles attached

o   Wrote blog post

You are updated. Time for me to read the Strib and enjoy the day as I hope that you will enjoy yours. I’m feeling like I have accomplished quite a bit this week and I’m ready for a break.
